do Radeon x1650 support AGPx4 ?
do Radeon x1650 support AGPx4 ?
resourcefully, got a X1600 working on a AGP4
have to use DRIVER (**NOT** CCC (!)) 6.1
but sometimes, after some graphic intensive program run (DVD player, video processing aso.) the PC rebooted more or smaller number spontaneously. this may however be linked w/ the chip (MPX760 dual CPU); a commonplace (1 CPU / ATA aso.) Mobo may not cause any problems. avoid, however
- Catalyst (waste of time & disk space)
- tweaking tools (lot'a time spend tweaking for (very) set benefit)
and you may be just fine.
HOWEVER (!): the AGP4 will not furnish you the performances you may expect from a X16x0, rawly at the level of a 9800 PRO; my 9800XTgives something like 10% more FPS, even though, of course, it can't run the most recent demos from ATI (e.g. crowd) which run, even though slowly (10 to 15 FPS (@ WSXGA) on the X1600
bottom splash, the X16x0 will provide you w/ the FPSes of an older AGP single card possibly w/ a crisper picture. FS9 & various demos work w/out problem (up to 60 FPS @ 1680x1050)
if you are not enthusiast gamer, the X1650 might the last worthy upgrade to your system;
as a die intricate gamer, you should get your self a tentative (PCI-E) MoBo
go look up the specs
cmon man agp is a DEAD STANDARD the second time they had agp graphics cards is stern in 2004, and that be agpx8-its all pci express immediately bro...
I would consider buying a new Motherboard as AGPx4 is merely about motionless and AGP Graphics Cards cost more than PCI-E.
appearently they have AGP text. but i recommend x1650 XT
