I freshly bought Maya 8 Unlimited, and i need plentifully more memory and storage space. I can't afford to buy a new laptop. What are some affordable ways to upgrade my cpu so that it is up-2-speed?
Does anyone know of any cheap places to find upgrades for a compaq computer?

Open your PC and find an empty space, usually purely below your current hard-drive. Make note of the size that would fit that space and you can buy any PC compatible hard-drive, purely make sure of the dimensions of the physical disk will fit. A simple notes cable connection and power nouns is all i.e. needed on most models, others will list a pullover setting that will help you create a "slave" drive. Good luck.
